In a bid to improve literacy in Oyam district, Foundation for Inclusive Community Help-FICH has accessed 400 literacy books from Mango Tree which will be used in the learning centres and during the Community Reading Days. The reading program is to instil culture and love of reading among children and parents in order to promote learning. The books contain 8 different titles and are classified into levels 1, 2, and 3 respectively which is for lower primary education and they promote foundational skills of literacy and numeracy.

While receiving the books, Victoria Harriet Anyango the Education program officer said the books from Mango Tree which focuses majorly on local languages will ensure children at the community learning centres are able to read, write, speak and listen (which are the major competencies at the lower level of primary education).
